Overview
Gravity Die Casting (GDC)
In gravity die casting, molten metal is poured into reusable metal moulds and fills under gravity alone. It delivers good mechanical strength and a fine grain structure, and suits medium volumes and thicker-walled parts.
Sand cores can be used for internal passages, making GDC a flexible route for housings and mechanical components that need strength without high-pressure tooling costs.
